Between dream and reality, the dance of contrasts

Born on an island, Sicily, Fragola carries within her all the power of the sea, a stormy sea that brings fragments of the past back to the surface, a sea where improbable boats defy the waves, lose and find their way again. A black and white torn apart by a vivid red, where dream and reality, past and present, harshness and joy of living, childhood and adulthood, photography and drawing dance together in a mysterious and captivating harmony.

A feeling of melancholy, yet at the same time of rebirth, takes hold of the observer who lets themselves be carried away by the waves. Dreamlike reality and urban reality blend together in a perfect balance, where creatures, removed from their natural context, are catapulted into unfamiliar environments to which they are forced to adapt.
